Water Kefir Supplies |

If you are making Water Kefir for a family, you will need these half gallon jars. I like them because they have wide mouth tops and I have found many other uses for these jars. I could find quart and pint jars in most stores but I could not find these half gallon jars where I live except online. Not only can you use them for your 1st ferment with Water Kefir but they are good for the 2nd ferment as well.

Water Kefir grow best with the sweetener Sucanat.

To strain the Water Kefir grains after the 1st ferment, you will need a plastic mesh strainer. I have looked in stores where I shop and just cannot find them. They are all metal. It's best to use plastic since some metals react with kefir grains. These strainers are top quality. Sometimes, I use the smaller strainer but with my healthy grains that work overtime, I needed a bigger strainer. You will not be disappointed with this buy.

If you really want a good fizz to your Water Kefir sodas then this is the bottle you will need. I use these more for my Kombucha tea than for my Water Kefir. Water Kefir does not need as much help to get a fizz as does Kombucha, especially if using grape juice. However, some other flavorings could use a tight seal to produce the fizz and this bottle will be the type you need.
